I am writing this letter for a testament about Pastor Spence and Ascension Fellowship Church. I came to the church through my good friend, Myron Smith, who is a great inspiration for me as a man of God. I am so grateful to have a pastor who is so caring and always giving me a message I can use to better my life each week. At the time I met him, Pastor Spence asked me a question; "What church do you attend?" I could not answer the question. I had not attended church in six months. He also asked me why I stopped going? I could not answer the question. It made me think, and I began to go to church again.
Since I have been attending the Ascension, I can see my life improving. I have had the opportunity to meet some real nice and genuine members, who embraced me and made me feel comfortable. It is not easy finding such an environment in a church. I think that is why I stopped attending. Also, my daughter visited from South Bend, IN and really enjoyed herself, along with her children and husband. Now when she comes to town, she always attends Ascension Fellowship with me. I especially like the fellowship the occurs after church with refreshments. This is a time I am getting to know the members on a personal level with hugs and conversation. With an atmosphere like this, I can get involved. I did have the opportunity to work with the Women's group, and volunteered to help with the Annual Luncheon. It was a great experience, and I plan to be involved in future events.Vida Harley-Bridges,
